All marine electronic boat suppliers propose
a wide range of multi function, speed, depth
and wind instruments. Many recent advances have
been made by marine electronics manufacturers,
which have increased the accuracy, quantity
and accessibility of data from electronic sailing
instruments. Marine instrument systems include
wind instruments, depth sounders, knotmeters,
log instruments, Depth/Temp/Speed thru-hull transducer,
alarms and remote control. These instruments could be
installed as dedicated, single-function displays
or combined into a comprehensive system with a
multifunction display. Some are wireless or cabled
with the NMEA and Seatalk communication system.
NMEA 2000 is the standard replacing NMEA 0183.
